Breathe, breathe, BREATHE! or you'll die.

How do lungs work?

Breathing is essential to life. We automatically breathe about 20,000 times a day. To survive we need our lungs to constantly work each day.expanding to absorb oxygen from the air, to then contract and release carbon dioxide.

The moment you take oxygen from the earth's atmosphere millions of small pockets called alveoli absorb it and scatter it throughout the sponge-like surface area of the lung. Oxygen is absorbed through the alveoli and then sent all over the body. These small pockets have a huge exterior, which allows an enormous amount of oxygen to be absorbed.

Once you breathe in, expel harmful carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a waste product so we do not need it. It is created in the process of energy making that goes on inside your body. Exchanging oxygen for carbon dioxide is an endless cycle of plants and animals. The process is called respiration.

 Conclusion
Breathe, breathe, BREATHE! Because if you don’t the amount of carbon dioxide in your blood will rise and you’ll die.we do have enough oxygen in our body to keep us going. As stated, we breathe about 20,000 times a day and lungs are essential to our health.

Spinosaurus aegyptiacus: A swimming dinosaur bigger than an adult T. rex.

Information report on Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus was the largest carnivorous dinosaur of all time. It had an enormous sail on its back growing to about 2 metres tall, a long neck, skull and tail. Spinosaurus grew to 15 to 18 metres and could weigh up to 11 tons. Its arms were as long as its legs for it was a quadruped and it wielded three claws. The claw on the first digit of the finger could grow up to nine inches perfect for pinning down huge fish like Onchopristis (on-ko-pris-tis). Spinosauruses snout was elongated and held 50 needle like teeth and were great at snapping up fish. It had a crest above its eyes and its nostrils were put high up on its snout so it wouldn’t drown when hunting. It was semi-aquatic which meant it lived on land and water. A Spinosauruses tail was very strong and helped the dinosaur swim. The reason they gave Spinosaurus this name was because the sail on its back was actually nine huge spines covered in flesh and skin rising from its back.

Spinosaurus lived in North Africa, mostly Egypt. In the time we live in right now north Africa is a barren desert wasteland, but around 120 million to 70 million years ago north Africa was a lush green paradise full of rivers, lakes and swamps. Since Spinosaurus was semi-aquatic, it lived very close to bodies of water and overall had a very wet life. The reason for its extinction was because of a huge meteorite. You may have already heard about the PE extinction event already but if you don’t know the PE extinction event is something caused by a huge meteorite that killed 95% of all living things on earth.

The Spinosaurus lived around 112 million years ago to 72.2 million years ago. This was in the cretaceous era, the time when the most well known dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops roamed the earth.

Spinosaurus had almost no dangers at all because it was the largest and most dangerous dinosaur where he lived. The only dangers Spinosaurus had were this other dinosaur named Carcharodontosaurus who was very close to the size of Spinosaurus and just as ferocious. We know this because we have evidence of fights between the two monsters. Another danger for Spinosaurus is drought. Since it was Africa, of course the sun was really strong so sometimes the rivers dried up destroying their food supply and dehydrating them to the point of killing the animal. Also giant meteor rights.

Spinosaurus didn't have a huge food variety. Like seriously it ate only fish. The kinds of fish it ate were Coelacanth and Onchopristis. Coelacanth was a large fish with seven fins and can grow to the size of a 7 year old boy, pretty much a piece of candy for Spinosaurus. It waited 52 kgs. Was black and had specks of white on its body. Onchrapristis was a huge Sawfish that grew to about 8 meters and weighed 700 KGS! There were also some dinosaurus spinosaurus ate like the duck billed Ouranosaurus which also had a sail like Spinosaurus.

Fun fact: Spinosaurus was the starring antagonist dinosaur in the movie Jurassic park ///, one of my favorite movies of all time. But a lot of people think otherwise.

Reading

For reading first we did quiz on an animal and I chose frog. We then did a Venn diagram on the differences between two animals and I chose frog and toad. The reason I chose these animals were because they're cool and disgust girls. Hope you enjoy and leave a comment.

Half Life

Here is my writing for writing. leave a comment.

Smoke covers the sky. No life is in sight except a single dead tree and a disgusting vulture. I feel sick. The air is too hard to breathe in. death surrounds the polluted area.it gets harder to breathe. I walk past the decaying tree and the environment around me suddenly changes. The abrupt change of intense relief after that polluted , factory littered, hell-zone.

This new thriving land was bathing in sunlight. Enormous cities in the horizon were clean and stretched out as far as the eye can see. The once dead tree was now blossoming with beautiful green leaves and nice brown wood. Green grasses grew on and on for miles and miles. Stood tall under the glowing sun. wildlife surrounded the serene paradise . glittering waters ran across the the sunlit prairie and birds chirped their beautiful

   “Pizza moza-rela, pizza moza-rela, pizza moza-rela.”

“Rela, rela, rela, rela, zola , zola.”

Truly a magical world.

Emerald green hills loomed over the lively fields. It's quite hard to believe that two worlds stood right next to each other, it's as if good and bad decided to stay out of each other's way. This is truly the definition of half life.

Narrative pick a path

In this writing piece we had to choose from four pictures. I chose a huge steampunk castle on top of a large mountain. I chose it because it looked cool and I had a great idea in my head about a description on it and where I could fit my monster (check it out if you have not seen it already) in it. Then we collaborated  (with who?) and wrote five paragraphs on our five senses about what we could see, hear, smell, feel(touch) and feel(emotions). Then we introduced our monsters into three more paragraphs and after those three paragraphs we branched off and took different paths. Once we finished we converted our writing onto a slide. And here we are. It's not quite finished yet though we will update it.

Nile crocodiles info report

Nile Crocodiles

In this information report will learn about a Nile crocodile's habitat, characteristics, body structure, food and dangers. This report will no doubt give you the  information you need to know.

Nile crocodiles live in Africa. They live in rivers, freshwater marshes, mangrove swamps, the sub Saharan, and the coast. freshwater marshes are a non-tidal body of water that is frequently flooded and consists of sedge, grasses, and emergent plants. Mangrove swamps is a distinct saline woodland or shrub-land habitat formed by mangrove trees in brackish tidal water.

Nile crocodiles characteristics are great. They have rough scales that are greeny brown and a very long skull. They are the second largest crocodile in the world second from the saltwater crocodile. They have a streamlined body that propels them through the water. Nile crocodiles have lumpy scales along their body and a long tail

A Nile crocodile's body structure is interesting. Even though they have one of the strongest bites in the world, the muscles that hold the mouth open are very weak so weak in fact somebody could hold their mouth shut. Nile crocodiles can be from 3 meters to 5 meters in length and can weigh 220 - 550 kg.

Nile crocodiles are not picky eaters. They will eat almost any living thing they can get in their mouths. Nile crocodiles are apex predators, their diet consists of large mammals, fish, birds and humans. When they are hunting large mammals like wildebeest and buffalo, they lie in wait in water that can be 10 inches deep and when it’s prey comes they lunge out and clamp their jaws around the neck or leg and drag them back into the water, drowning the animal.

Nile crocodiles have almost no danger because they are an apex predator. In fact, the only natural danger is drought. It reduces the water they live in to almost nil, zilch, absolutely nothing at all, making it much harder to hunt for food. They have a lot of danger when they are young like monitor lizards, marabou storks, other crocodiles and shoebill storks. When they are adults they have no predators except other crocodiles, but hippos will kill them if they get too close. Humans hunt them for tier scales. They also drain their homes and build villages or towns over them.

In conclusion, nile crocodiles are dangerous and fascinating.. What would you do if it jumped out of the water and clamped it’s jaws around your leg?
