Breathe, breathe, BREATHE! or you'll die.

How do lungs work?

Breathing is essential to life. We automatically breathe about 20,000 times a day. To survive we need our lungs to constantly work each day.expanding to absorb oxygen from the air, to then contract and release carbon dioxide.

The moment you take oxygen from the earth's atmosphere millions of small pockets called alveoli absorb it and scatter it throughout the sponge-like surface area of the lung. Oxygen is absorbed through the alveoli and then sent all over the body. These small pockets have a huge exterior, which allows an enormous amount of oxygen to be absorbed.

Once you breathe in, expel harmful carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a waste product so we do not need it. It is created in the process of energy making that goes on inside your body. Exchanging oxygen for carbon dioxide is an endless cycle of plants and animals. The process is called respiration.

 Conclusion
Breathe, breathe, BREATHE! Because if you don’t the amount of carbon dioxide in your blood will rise and you’ll die.we do have enough oxygen in our body to keep us going. As stated, we breathe about 20,000 times a day and lungs are essential to our health.
